Senior year of high school, I sat behind Matt in our AP Environmental Science class. I remember thinking he was cute. But we didn't talk at all in high school. Fast forward to our sophomore year of college. Matt and I had different groups of friends, but we both ended up at a New Year's Eve party in our hometown. I was at Winona State University in Minnesota. Matt was at College of Lake County with plans to go to UW Whitewater the next year. We started talking that night, and then we had our first kiss right at midnight to ring in the new year. We then hung out as much as we could over winter break.

Matt and I began making the four hour drive to visit each other on the weekends as much as possible. We both wanted to spend as much time together as we could. That summer of 2018, we went on our first trip together to Maine with my family, which was amazing. Matt and I were long-distance for over three years. We would take turns each weekend making the four hour drive to see each other. It was so worth it to be together.

Matt and I decided to move to Madison, WI together in May 2021. We both had found full-time jobs that used our degrees well, and we moved into our first apartment together. So many great memories were made there over two years. We supported each other through life and job changes before moving to a new (bigger) apartment in Middleton in 2023.

We've been on trips with family and friends to Colorado, Montana, Maine again, Mexico, Minnesota, and more.

Throughout almost seven years together (at the time of writing this), it truly feels like our love for each other has just grown. We are extremely blessed to have found each other and to be one another's soulmate and best friend.

Matt and I can't wait to celebrate our love with all of our loved ones. We appreciate you all being a part of our story!
